The start of a blog...A cruise to kick start summer vacation!

I have decided to start a blog, to help me remember things the kids say and do, and to help everyone stay current with what we're doing everyday! I hope you stop by often to catch up on the kiddo's!

Just to get started, I would like to update everyone on what we have been up to so far this summer! :o)
On May 16th, we left for a cruise through Carnival to Jamaica and Grand Camyman and we all had lots of fun. The cruise was 7 days and of course we all had our favorite parts:

Noah loved the pizzaria and the "sprinkle pool". There was a kid pool that had mosaic designs in the bottom and I suppose, to him, it looked like sprinkles! It was too cute and he cried everytime we forced him to get out of the pool! The love for water didn't stop with the sprinkle pool though, this little man LOVES the ocean too! Noah was all in all, just thrilled with the cruise ship of course...boys and things that go! He spent quite a bit of time out on the balcony with his "beenoculars"! :o)

Raylan loved dancing! She enjoyed the live music on the liddo deck and got EVERYONE's attention! There is no telling how many people now have pictures of her dancing...she had many fans! She made friends with nearly all the staff and our stateroom steward in particular! She didn't like the water as much as Noah, but she LOVED the sand!

The kids had the best time and had some very cute brother sister moments!

Of course, there were plenty of individual moments for each of them...
We had our formal dinner with the captain on Monday (after boarding Saturday) and that was fun, but the kids were scared to shake hands with him, even though Noah had been talking about it non-stop! The picture from that night is the one above of everyone dressed up! Raylan wouldn't look at the camera or smile and Noah just kept cutting up! Dinner that night was also very interesting! Ray and the kids had never been to a formal dinner and Ray was blown away by all the extra silverware and of course the waiter who was waiting on him constantly! Both my boys looked fantastic all dressed up and Raylan looked like a beautiful little Princess in her pretty pink dress! Noah kept telling everyone that he was cool, because he had a "neck tie" like Daddy!
On Tuesday we stopped in our first port, Montego Bay Jamaica. We all enjoyed watching the boat dock and took a taxi for a tour of the city and eventually to the beach. Our taxi driver, Chris, was hilarious! He told us many jokes and gave a very entertaining tour of the city! He says that there, they call KFC: Keep fat comin' or Keep from cookin'! One of his jokes was about a minister and a taxi driver at the golden gate for judgement from the Lord and only the driver was allowed into heaven. The preacher didn't understand, he had been preaching the bible for many years and was a man of God. The Lord told him, "Well, while you were preachin', the people were sleepin', but while he was drivin', everyone was prayin'!" He was too funny! OH and they really do say, "Ya Mon" ALL the time! Our driver even took us to the beach and stayed with us, because we were paranoid after we met and picked up others from the boat who had been charged fair to and from, but had then been abandoned by their driver! He also took us by a shop to buy keep sakes and then to a grocery store where some people bought snack food that they couldn't get on the boat and some got Jamaican money for keep sakes! This was taken right outside of the Ritz Carlton there!
Here is a picture of us with the people on our taxi and our driver (the man in the tie! haha)...this was on the beach called Doctors Cave:

Next stop was on Wednesday in Grand Cayman! This was interesting because we had to tender to shore, the water was too shallow for the cruise ship to dock. Raylan loved this, she watched over her Dad's shoulder the entire way to shore! It made me a bit sick to my stomach, but nothing unbearable...and Noah didn't seem to have an opinion! This island was amazing, beautiful and felt much more welcoming than Jamaica. There was a Harley Davidson and Hard Rock Cafe visible from the tender and that already seemed like a home away from home! :o)
While here, we took the kids on an excursion to Boatswains Beach, where they had the Turtle Farm and a man made lagoon for snorkling, along with a preditor tank. The kids LOVED the turtle farm and looking at all the fish. Ray enjoyed snorkling and took some underwater pictures. While he did that, the kiddo's played in the sand on the little beach they had and then we went to the gift shop where Raylan fell in love with these little plush turtles she just HAD to have! :o)
These turtles were HUGE, I stuck my foot into the picture so we could remember and be able to tell the size! :o)In both ports, we had very little time. We knew this about Jamaica, but our nearly 12 hour day in Cayman turned into 5 or 6 hours. Though we weren't there for long, we had tons of fun and Wenesday afternoon-Saturday morning was for fun aboard the ship! We did lots of swimming and tanning. The kids favorite place to go was the candy shop on board and we took them after dinner. I enjoyed dressing them up and going to dinner in the dinning room, so I bribed them to go with a visit to the candy shop after! ;o)

This is on our balcony!

Our Little man~
Miss Thing dressed up for dinner!Tanning...well, I was, she was napping!
Well, we had such a wonderful time, but like everything, it had to come to an end. I think it was the perfect amount of time! The kids were just barely starting to ask to go home and Ray and I wouldn't have been ready to go home any sooner!
